BBQCountry announces CARL “The Cook” LEWIS as the 10th of 12 Professional Pitmasters for Season 1 of Barbecue Country.

A native son of Turner Swamp, NC, Carl’s lifelong passion and enthusiasm for BBQ and cooking is a bonafide generational birthright. A way of life. Known and respected throughout the BBQ industry and culture for decades as, “Carl the Cook,’ he is the creator, founder, and owner of Big Show Foods, makers of the “John Boy and Billy’s Grillin’ Sauces and Rubs,” the second longest selling celebrity endorsed products on the market at nearly 30 years. As well as being an extended cast-member of the legendary syndicated radio broadcast, “The Big Show” with John Boy and Billy.

Hugely successful in the KCBS Circuit since 1996, boasting numerous Grand Championships and top titles, Carl was the 2014 North Carolina BBQ PitMaster Grand Champion, and is widely considered one of the veteran experts on traditional NC whole-hog competition cooking.
